With Pharmscape, your OSPAP admission is not left to chance – it’s a structured, professional process designed to give you confidence and security as you begin your career in the United Kingdom.
Step-by-Step Process at Pharmscape
Step 1 - Apply to GPhC for OSPAP eligibility (MANDATORY first step)
You (or Pharmscape on your behalf) submit the GPhC “Apply for eligibility to complete an OSPAP” application. This confirms whether your pharmacy qualification is acceptable and grants the GPhC eligibility letter that you must show to universities.
Tip: Read GPhC guidance carefully and scan/translate all certificates before uploading. The GPhC process can take several weeks – plan ahead.
Step 2 - Prepare & collect core documents (before university application)
Collect the full, certified set below (many will be requested by both GPhC and universities):
Passport (photo page)
Pharmacy degree certificate + year-wise transcripts (original & certified copies)
Professional registration/license proof from home country
GPhC OSPAP eligibility letter (once issued) – must be produced to apply.
English language evidence (IELTS / OET) or exemption proof (see Step 3)
CV (pharmacy-focused) + 2 referees (one academic, one professional)
Personal statement (SOP) tailored to UK practice
Vaccination / immunisation record, police clearance (DBS equivalent) — obtain early.
(Universities often request certified translations if documents are not in English.)
Step 3 - Secure the required English language proof
- Typical acceptable tests and scores: IELTS Academic (overall 7.0 with minimum band requirements as specified by the university/regulator) or OET (grade B in each sub-test).
- Some universities may accept documented English-medium instruction or 2+ years’ practice in a majority English-speaking country – but always check university-specific policies.
Step 4 - Choose universities and submit application(s)
Pharmscape matches your profile with UK OSPAP universities (Aston, Hertfordshire, Brighton, Kingston, Sunderland).
Compare entry requirements, tuition fees, deadlines, and location preferences.
- With your GPhC letter and documents ready, apply to the OSPAP programmes you want (Aston, Hertfordshire, Brighton, Kingston, Sunderland, etc.). Each university has its own application portal and deadlines – submit complete applications early.
- The OSPAP course is typically 9 months full-time.
Step 5 - Respond to offers & satisfy conditions
- Universities typically issue conditional offers (e.g., pending final transcripts, GPhC letter, proof of English, health screening).
Complete any outstanding conditional requirements quickly: health forms, vaccination proof, criminal record checks, or certified documents.
Step 6 - Acceptance & Deposit Payment
Accept the university’s offer through their system.
Pay any initial deposit (varies by university, often £2,000-£3,000)
Step 7 - Receive CAS and apply for UK Student Visa
- Once your offer becomes unconditional and you’ve paid any deposit, the university issues a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS).
- You must demonstrate sufficient funds (tuition + maintenance as specified on your CAS / UKVI rules). Check maintenance sums and supporting-document rules carefully. We can apply for the visa up to 6 months before the course starts.
We apply for a UK Student Visa (using CAS).
Prepare visa documents: (Passport, CAS letter, Financial proof (tuition + maintenance funds), TB test certificate (if required), and English test results (if not already exempt).
Pay visa fee + Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS).
Step 8 - Pre-departure (logistics & onboarding)
- Arrange: accommodation, travel, UK health surcharge (IHS), bank transfer for tuition/deposit, local phone, and student insurance.
- Book any remaining appointments (vaccines, medical certificates). Confirm arrival instructions with your university (induction dates, registration steps).
Step 9 - Arrive & register with university
Attend in-person registration, submit originals for verification, get student ID/campus access, and complete any placement paperwork required for clinical components.
